چکیده

This article presents the analysis and design of a Class- $\text{E}_{\mathrm {M}}/\text{F}_{\mathrm {n}}$ power amplifier (PA). The high peak switch voltage factor classical {M}}$ PA is reduced by 27.3% through adoption notation="LaTeX">$\text{F}^{-1}$ third-harmonic termination on main circuit, resulting in novel topology called . finite dc-feed inductance enables introduction parameter notation="LaTeX">$k$ , which can be exploited to extend maximum operating frequency PA. idealized current waveforms show that circuit fulfills not only zero switching (ZVS) derivative (ZVDS) conditions as Class-E but also zero-current (ZCS) (ZCDS) notation="LaTeX">$\text{E}^{-1}$ thus minimizing dissipation during OFF-to-ON ON-to-OFF transitions. load-network parameters auxiliary circuits are derived, harmonic-balance simulations performed confirm analytical results. A {M}}/\text{F}_{3,5}$ employing transmission-line load network was designed implemented using GaN HEMTs. constructed delivered drain efficiency 83%, power-added 76%, an output 42.3 dBm at 1.8 GHz.

Investigation of Class E Amplifier with Nonlinear Capacitance for Any Output Q and Finite DC-Feed Inductance

This paper investigates the design curves of class E amplifier with nonlinear capacitance for any output Q and finite dc-feed inductance. The important results are; 1) the capacitance nonlinearity strongly affects the design parameters for low Q, 2) the value of dc-feed inductance is hardly affected by the capacitance nonlinearity, and 3) the input voltage is an important parameter to design cl...

Load Network Design Technique for Switched-Mode Tuned Class E Power Amplifiers

Abstract − The switched-mode second-order Class E configuration with a generalized load network including the shunt capacitance, series bondwire inductance, finite DC feed inductance and series LC circuit is analytically defined with a set of the exact design equations. Based on these equations, the required voltage and current waveforms and circuit parameters are determined for both general ca...

Design Equations for Class-E Power Amplifiers

In literature, it is widely accepted that the design of Class-E Power Amplifier (PA) with finite dc feed inductance requires a long iterative solution procedure. To avoid such iterative solution methods, analytical design equations should be known. The problem associated with the finite dc feed inductance Class-E PA is usually ascribed to the fact that the circuit element values are transcenden...

A Class E Power Amplifier with Low Voltage Stress

A new output structure for class E power amplifier (PA) is proposed in this paper. A series LC resonator circuit, tuned near the second harmonic of the operating frequency is added to the output circuit. This resonator causes low impedance at the second harmonic. The output circuit is designed to shape the switch voltage of the class E amplifier and lower the voltage stress of the transistor. T...

Design and Experimental Results of Resonant dc/dc Converter with Class E Oscillator

This paper presents design of generalized resonant dc/dc converter with class E oscillator and a experimental result for low output Q and finite dc-feed inductance are shown. Low Q and finite dc-feed inductance is effective to minimize the circuit scale. Therefore, it is required to design the converter with any conditions, i.e., low output Q and finite dc-feed inductance. The experimental meas...
